HOSPITALIZATION/ICU Our facility is equipped to hospitalize patients for
treatment for a short term or for an extended period of time.
Critical patients are monitored throughout the day in our
well-equipped ICU area. The ICU area is centrally located
so that critical patients can be monitored at all times by
our licensed veterinary technicians and the veterinarians.
If we feel that the patient is not stable enough to stay in
our ICU overnight, we will recommend for them to be transported
to the Peninsula Emergency Veterinary Clinic, where there
is a veterinarian and staff on the premise throughout the
night.
IN-HOUSE LABORATORY Routine laboratory tests (ie. heartworm test, K9 pregnancy
test, feline leukemia/aids test, fecal samples and blood/ear
smears) can be performed in the hospital, which enables vital
test results to be obtained within minutes: We also have in-house
CBB, Vet Chemistry, and Electrolyte Machines to aid in rapid
diagnosis. For more extensive and specialized tests, we have
access to local laboratories and other laboratories throughout
the country.
IN-HOUSE DIAGNOSTICS
Our facility is equipped
with some of the latest in diagnostic laboratory equipment.
These include ophthalmic tonometry (glaucoma testing), oxygenation
and pulse measurements, blood pressure analysis and electrocardiography
(EKG).
PHARMACY
We house a fully stocked
pharmacy, so that we are able to provide you with your prescription
at the time of service. We also have a good working relationship
with a local pharmacy which can provide you with the option
of having some medications flavored and/or compounded (changing
the medication to a form that is easier to administer) to
your pet’s taste.
ISOLATION WARD
Our isolation ward is a special room that is separate from
the rest of the hospital. This room is specially designated
for patients who may have a contagious illness. It is equipped
with its own air supply and temperature regulation.
RADIOLOGY Our veterinary hospital is fully equipped with a radiographic
(X-ray) machine and an automatic film processor for quick
development. Our X-ray equipment aids in our ability to make
accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
MICROCHIP We offer our clients the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service
(microchipping). The HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service is a safe,
simple and permanent form of pet identification designed to
quickly identify lost or stolen pets and reunite them with
their owners. A professional recovery team maintains their
database 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and notifies you as
soon as your pet’s ID number is called into the 24-hour
recovery hotline. Veterinary clinics and shelters scan lost
animals and call the HomeAgain Pet Recovery team to report
a found pet. Currently, with the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service,
a successful recovery occurs approximately every 6 minutes!

ULTRASOUND We now offer ultrasonography to our clients! Ultrasonography
is a noninvasive procedure (means it does not penetrate the
skin or body opening). An ultrasound scan is a procedure that
uses high-frequency sound waves to view and look through organs
and tissues and produce images of the animal body. It aids
in screening, detecting and diagnosing medical conditions,
tumors, heart, kidney, liver disease and much more.
