BOARDING

When your pet comes to Mercury
Animal Hospital, you can rest assured your pet will receive
superb care, loving attention and highly-competent treatment.
In short, when you leave your pet with us, you can be assured
that, while there’s no place like home, we can provide
a very comfortable vacation home for your loved one.
BOARDING POLICY
Each boarder is checked for cleanliness, fleas and ticks upon
arrival. Bathing and flea treatments are done accordingly
at the owner’s expense. All boarding pets must have
documented proof of their current vaccination status. Vaccines
that are REQUIRED for boarding are: DHPP (within a year),
Bordetella (within 6 months) and Rabies (within a year for
the first rabies and within 3 years for those after). In the
event of an emergency occurring during their stay, every attempt
will be made to contact the owners (emergency contact numbers
are mandatory). If the owners cannot be reached, we will treat
your pet as we deem appropriate, at the owner’s expense.
Your pets are observed daily by the veterinarians and the
hospital staff . A daily log is kept on each pet, recording
their appetite, urination/defecation status, medications given
and their overall well-being. If your pet is on a specific
diet, we recommend that you bring their food for us to feed
during their stay with us (helps to prevent GI upsets). We
try to make each pet’s stay as comfortable as possible.
With individual care and attention given to each pet, their
stay will seem “almost” like home.
CANINE WARD & KENNEL
Our kennel is climate controlled and well ventilated. For
dogs, we have all in-door separate runs (medium, large and
extra-large sizes) and stainless steel cages (small, medium
and large sizes). We also have stainless steel cages in our
separate dog ward, for small and medium breeds. Each cage
and run are thoroughly sanitized multiple times a day with
additional clean-ups as needed. We also have a 3000 sq. ft.
securely fenced exercise area (separately divided for small
and large breeds) where pets are allowed to run and play under
direct supervision, multiple times a day.
FELINE WARD
Cats have a separate ward for boarding. Each cat is
allowed to exercise in the cat room with cat toys and a jungle
gym daily.
DAYCARE

DAYCARE POLICY
All daycare pets must have documented proof of their current
vaccination status. Vaccines that are REQUIRED for boarding
are: DHPP (within a year), Bordetella (within 6 months) and
Rabies (within a year for the first rabies and within 3 years
for those after).
Daycare is open to any and all pets. Daycare is provide for
those parents who, like us, have to work all day and don’t
want their pets to be at home alone all day long. Daycare
is advantageous for pets, especially puppies and adult dogs.
At daycare, our puppies are let out every hour (to aid in
housebreaking). Our adult dog are let out 3 times in the morning
and 3 times in the evening. At anytime, if you would like
your pet to socialize with other pets of their own size, just
let us know. We have playtime with those pets who get along
well. This playtime is always under direct supervision.
